I saw someone describe Riddick once as "the Mary Sue of his own universe", and I've been LOL'ing over it ever since. But they were right, in part; he's not an actual anti-hero, he's a Massively Tragic Backstory Badass Wounded Hero Who Just Needs a (Really) Good Excuse (In Wolf's Clothing) type, so ... in this series I give him Buffy, as a good excuse! :)
