Season 6 gets a bad rap from a lot of fans; when I checked the timelines out the prospect of meddling with that era and having a properly appreciated Jonas as well as Wes was one of the perks for writing this series, for me.

I do love Daniel, but rest assured, I will not shunt Wes aside in his favor like the show did with Jonas.
