=) I had a lot of fun writing this one. I thought, "I should take notes for an LJ post about the trip..." but it was challenge month already, so why not turn it into a story?

Dawn's superwomanness is just a factor of her being young and fit; we had a seventeen year old along on the hike I went on, and he had more energy than even the experienced hikers knew what to do with.

I got the Aussie-isms by googling "Australian slang"; a number of fun sites came up. I sometimes even do that with British language sites just to make sure I don't miss obvious things like "don't let your Brit character say 'gotten'" and "boot = trunk" and so on.

The MasterCard thing, is more or less what I tweeted as soon as I got home from the hike ... at least the first half; the rest from me was, "Mountains climbed: two. Experience: priceless." *grin*
