This wasn't exactly what I intended when I started out, but every time I tried to imagine John Connor getting all earnest about Skynet and the War to Save Mankind and so on, my Rodney McKay muse started scoffing and mocking his egocentric worldview, so finally I just gave up and ran with that. =)
