The one with Jack the Ripper also had male/female notions of 'females able to generate more sheer terror than males'; I liked the notion of Jack the Ripper's identity being solved in a scifi resolution, as his methods were otherworldly and insane enough to BE alien.
Metamorphosis was a simplified romance and yeah, Cochrane's romance and his xenophobic-ness, wasn't that supposed to tie into the ST:TNG movie? At least his characterization I recall being like that.
