I've been rereading from my collection of Star Trek novels too. My favourites for sure are the ones by Diane Duane - the Rihannsu series. Right now I'm reading Federation.
I was in my friends' bookstore this afternoon, checking out the Star Trek novels; I haven't bought a new one in years, but I can feel myself sliding..
I never was a fan of Alan Dean Foster's writing, so I'm avoiding the novelization.
