Every time I see the movie (and it's been about a dozen times now), those first ten minutes make me tear up; that's quality filmwork, when so little screentime can make an audience care so much. Their last conversation kept playing in my head when I was writing, so I couldn't help but include it. Winona's had a tragic life, but seen from her shoes-- it doesn't have to be a bitter one, does it?
I didn't actually get to see stars much on my trip; we were travelling and stopping off to see sights 12 to 16 hours every day, so by the time we found a hotel every night I basically collapsed unconscious. But we had a ton of fun. The Nebraska one was interesting; a monument I'd never have found if not for picking up geocaching.
