I like this, though I doubt the Ancients needed Felix Horribilis to screw things up--they seem to have the sort of consistent "bad luck" that comes from a combination of arrogance and stupid choices. Both the Wraith and the Asurans/Replicators came to be through that sort of thinking.

Though granted, the potion would probably speed things up.
