Yeah. Is that a reference to Picard/Q slash? Which is just wrong. I'm no slasher, but some pairings I can read and enjoy if the writing is good. P/Q? Nope. No way. I just want to know what people are smoking, so I can avoid it. Because I'd have to bleach my brain afterwards.
G/D isn't quite as bad, but it's close.
Actually, part of this might have something to do with how young I was when TNG was on its first run. Giving the characters anything more than transient girlfriends/boyfriends just seems ... wrong to me. There are exceptions, Zakhad's Picard/Troi series being one of the very few.
