Brian had never asked for that kind of recognition, just the power to protect his family. Though possibly, that was what had gotten him into this situation in the first place.... Possibly, it was what had always gotten him into these kinds of situations, he admitted wryly.

The mech transformed like an old man cracking his back in an attempt to stand up straight, but when it was done, he was even bigger and bristlier than Optimus. Mikaela watched tensely as red eyes blinked open and the Seeker turned its head to take in its surroundings.

So, the shrewd eye may have noticed that I'm still significantly behind in posting last year's Wishlist stories, and that the prompt post for the next edition hasn't yet gone up.

There are multiple reasons for this. One is that the maintainer of [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic isn't officially running the challenge as a group event again this year. Another is that I participated in three big bangs this year, which might've proved that I actually can write and finish something of novel length in a respectable amount of time, but soaked up a lot of energy. A third is that RL bullshit has socked me in the jaw several times, and how long it takes my muse to come back from that is always a crapshoot.

Anyway ... I decided for my own sanity that I was going to delay opening the prompt post until January 1, after the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide writing season ends, and start posting those stories in February 2017. Hopefully, I'll be caught up by then.

All of which is to say: yes, the prompt post is late this year. But it's still going to happen! So watch this space. When I open that post, it'll be first come, first served; the first 24 prompts will be the only ones I take all year. :)
jedibuttercup: Buffy Summers (lm - slayer)
PG-13, B:tVS x Fast & Furious 6; 1600 words. Post-series and mid-movie.

Owen Shaw had demons working with him, too. Fortunately, Hobbs had another consultant in mind for that aspect of the job: Buffy Summers.

jedibuttercup: (eliot)
PG-13, Leverage x Jurassic World; 3000 words. Post-series and pre-movie.

It was pretty obvious to Eliot that if a guy like Vic Hoskins was sponsoring the raptor project, he wasn't thinking 'theme park exhibit' or 'research papers.'

jedibuttercup: (tony stark)
PG-13, Iron Man (MCU) x B:tVS; 2100 words. Follows Dawn, Insert Last Name Here.

Everything about Dawn Summers' appearance, even the fact of her existence, was all backwards. It was the most interesting puzzle Tony had been presented with in quite some time.

Teenage Trojan Horse of Chaos

PG-15; Riddick (2013) x Grimm fusion, 2400 words. Canon divergence fic.

Most of the mercs I've faced over the course of my life have been nothing special. But there've been a few that were something... other: man-shaped predators whose eyes turn black as night when your animal side is closest to the fore.

Now that I've finished putting up last year's stories, here's the new list: the assembled (mostly crossover, gee I guess I know what my fans like!) prompts from the Wishlist 2015 post. I'll add in the links as the ficlets are posted.

Last year's now all-linked-up list is here: 2014 Final List. Or view 2014's on AO3 as a collection.

(Previous years: 2013 | 2012 | 2011 | 2010. See [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic for other authors!)

jedibuttercup: (eliot)
PG-13; Leverage x Mummyverse, 1500 words. Part of the Protectors of Man series.

jedibuttercup: (rick castle)
PG, Castle x Stargate Atlantis; 1800 words. Post-series for SGA; early seasons for Castle.

John could hear the pair working the Wraith crime scene before they saw them: a rather excitable male voice doing most of the talking, and a firmer, slightly amused woman, offering the occasional counterpoint.
